"A Home Away from Home"
First Baptist offers a "home away from home" for students to experience a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ in a supportive community. Students from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst College, Mount Holyoke College, Smith College, Hampshire College, Hallmark School of Photography, and more are part of the church family. Students from many nations and diverse cultures are among our campus community.
Classic Worship is on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. This worship service includes classic hymns, orchestra music, choir songs, Scripture readings, and a relevant message to help us live our faith in the real world.
Contemporary Worship is on Sundays at 11:00 a.m. This worship celebration is filled with worship songs led by our worship band, faith stories, creative arts, drama sketches, video clips, interesting interviews, and a relevant message.
College Lunch is served at noon each Sunday of the school year to help students build community together and get to know people in our church family. There is such thing as a free lunch!
Growth Groups are small groups of 8-12 people that meet to support each other, study the Bible, and serve together. See the Growth Groups page for descriptions of the 19 groups this semester.
You Can Make a Difference by volunteering on a service team. Bless hungry people at the food pantry, play with the worship band, invest in the lives of kids with children’s ministry, mentor students in the youth ministry, travel on a mission trip, and a lot more. Click on the Ministry Teams link to see ways you could serve.
Campus Ministries: First Baptist partners with Campus Crusade, InterVarsity, and the Navigators. We value the partnership we share with these campus ministries.
